Brow Lifts & Forehead Lifts
If you have expression lines, frown lines, or other visible signs of aging in the forehead and brow region, that you find bothersome, a brow lift, also called a forehead lift, may be right for you. A brow lift is designed to correct features in the forehead area associated with aging, restoring a more youthful, rested appearance with uplifted contours and improved tone in facial skin and underlying muscle. These procedures are often performed in conjunction with other facial procedures such as face lift and blepharoplasty. At the Zannis Center for Plastic Surgery in New Bern, NC, Dr. Zannis offers all the surgical experience and artistic skill needed to be a premier provider of brow lifts and forehead lifts in our region.
Brow Lifts Are Used to:
- Minimize the creases that develop across the forehead or those that occur high on the bridge of the nose, between the eyes,
- Improve the frown lines or verticle creases between the eyebrows,
- Reposition a low or sagging brow that is hooding the upper eyelid, and
- Raise and restore the eyebrows to a more youthful position.
The Brow Lift Procedure
Brow lift surgery can be performed through multiple limited incisions hidden within the hairline in an open or endoscopic fashion. These small incisions will generally result in minimal scarring. Results of a brow lift may be enhanced through laser resurfacing or a chemical peel that can further improve skin tone and surface appearance. When there is significant excess skin in the forehead area, an alternate technique, using a wide incision across the top of the scalp may be recommended.
Results & Recovery from Your Brow Lift
After your brow and forehead lift procedure at the Zannis Center for Plastic Surgery, any localized swelling should subside within 2 to 4 weeks. Final results may appear within 1 to 2 months after your surgery, but your incision lines will continue to refine and fade in appearance for up to 1 year.
