Facial Plastic Surgery Options

The Zannis Center for Plastic Surgery provides a wide range of plastic surgery options for those in the Wilmington, NC area. Due to the city’s high exposure to sun and nearby beaches you just can’t help but lounge on summer after summer, many people find their faces changing a little more quickly than they had expected. Or, maybe you’ve never been that comfortable with your facial appearance or have had an accident that left a feature looking or functioning outside of what you feel is right for you. At Zannis, people all around Wilmington come to us requesting facial rejuvenation and plastic surgery procedures, and we’ve successfully helped countless patients over the years find the appearance and function they were looking for. Our team performs a variety of facial procedures in office, all handled with the utmost care. See what we offer below, and be sure to contact our office for more details or to schedule your consultation.

Rhinoplasty

Being it requires invasion of the nose’s internal structures, it’s important to find an expert you can trust to perform this procedure, one of Zannis’s specialties. Most people are interested in rhinoplasty to address the nose size, shape, or function. Commonly, patients want to reduce the size or slope, reshape the tip, or improve breathing capability through the nostrils. This requires both skill and aesthetic eye. Candidates for this procedure are those that are healthy and have not undergone nose procedures before, though if you have gone through a procedure, read our Secondary Rhinoplasty guide.

Brow & Forehead Lifts

Normal aging and premature aging due to sun exposure and environmental factors can leave you with frown lines, forehead lines, or general skin sagging. A lift of the brows or forehead allows us to make the area once again taught, smoothing out lines and wrinkles and seemingly lifting the face. Brow lifts are used to:

  • Minimize the creases that develop across the forehead or those that occur high on the bridge of the nose, between the eyes,
  • Improve the frown lines or vertical creases between the eyebrows,
  • Reposition a low or sagging brow that is hooding the upper eyelid, and
  • Raise and restore the eyebrows to a more youthful position.

Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)

Diet, lack of sleep, stress, genetics, normal aging, and other lifestyle factors can cause the skin around the eyes to sag and wrinkle, leaving you with an appearance that makes you look older and often tired. Eyelid surgery can help remove excess skin around the upper and lower eyelid areas to help contour the eye shape. This reduction improves the look of drooping lids, bags under the eyes, and fine wrinkles on the lids. The result is eyes that appear larger, more awake, and refreshed.

Otoplasty (Ear Surgery)

For those wanting to reduce the size of the ears or help with positioning, otoplasty is an option. Our ears are almost fully grown age four, and prominent positioning or size can be the cause of ridicule for children and adults alike. Ear surgery can be performed typically in two to three hours in office, and the bulk of healing will happen over the first week after the procedure. Along with these procedures, we can also repair split earlobes.

Facial Implants

Those wanting to change the contour of the face or feature size and shape may consider facial implants. This may be due to preferences in aesthetic appearance or to correct imbalanced facial proportions. Our office provides cutting-edge facial implants that are customized to your unique face and goals and can be used to change the contour of the cheek, chin, jaw, and more. These implants are custom-ordered, and full healing usually take place over a two-month period, though the procedure is out patient and relatively quick.

Face & Neck Lifts

Face lifts are a common facial plastic surgery option often chosen to improve the look of wrinkling and sagging of the skin. The effect is a smoother, more youthful look of the face and neck. This procedure addresses:

  • Wrinkles between the nose and mouth,
  • Deep creases below the lower eyelids,
  • Fat that has fallen or is saggy,
  • Descent of the midface or cheekbone area,
  • Loss of muscle tone in the lower face that may create jowls
  • Loose skin and excess fatty deposits under the chin and jaw
